Verifying your Google Business Profile is a crucial step to confirm ownership and make your business visible online. This validation allows you to manage your information, interact with your clients, and ensure a professional presence on Google and Google Maps.

Step-by-step guide to verify your Google Business Profile for the first time

Once your profile is created or claimed, you must verify it to confirm that you are the legitimate owner of the business, and therefore able to make changes. The validation step is also necessary to make your profile visible on Google after it’s created, and to publish Google posts.

How to do it?

1. Go to your Google Business Profile Manager and click on Verify if the interface prompts you to do so.
   
2. Select the verification method that works best for you:
   • Phone: A code will be sent to you via text.
   • Message: A code will be sent to you via voice message.
   • Email: A code will be sent to you via email.
   • Postal Mail: You will receive a letter with a code to enter.
   • Video: Record a video showing the exterior of your business.
   • Video Call: A Google representative will contact you via video call.

3. Follow the instructions provided by Google.

   • The method you choose will determine the instructions to follow.
   • You may be asked to provide additional information, such as a photo of your business license.

4. Google will review your request.

   • This process may take up to five business days.
   • You will receive an email notification once your profile is verified.

If the verification fails:

• The "Verify" button will reappear.
• Try a different verification method.

After the verification:

• You will be able to update your business information and publish Google posts.
• Your establishment will appear on Google Search and Google Maps.
